Material Utilization

County LogoAlbemarle County does not provide waste collection services for its citizens. Each county resident must either dispose of their waste themselves or contract with a waste disposal hauler of their choice.

Bulky Item Drop-off Days are usually held twice a year. On these days, which are usually announced in newspapers or on radio stations, residents can drop off furniture and appliances at no charge at specified locations. Call Albemarle County at 296-5861 for more information.

Residents should place their bagged newspaper out with their trash.
Haulers servicing Albemarle County are required to offer curbside pick up of the newspaper.
