A Virginia Festival of the Book Event
Who:Adults in Literacy Programs and Adult Education, ESL, and GED Programs
What: A Writing Contest. Twelve writers will be awarded cash prizes of $25 each. Writings must be on one of the following themes:
Be creative! Stories and poems are welcome. Writings must be neatly handwritten or typed double spaced. Maximum length is 3 typed pages. An entry form must be attached to all writings. Writings will be judged by a panel of committee members and adult learners. Awards will be given for most original and best overall entries. Click here for guidelines. Send writings to Susan Erno, RLCC, 401 McIntire Rd, Charlottesville, VA 22902. All entries must be received by February 17, 1998.
Awards Presentation:
Thursday, March 19,
7:00 PM at the Central Library,
201 E. Market St.,
Charlottesville. All writers, their families,
and friends are
invited to attend and share their writings.
Every writing will be
published in a booklet and all writers
will receive a copy.
