Local Club Policies

1. A member who is absent from a meeting will be billed for the cost of dinner unless she notifies Mary Williams (296-1084) of her absence by 2:00 p.m. of the Friday before the meeting.
   
   
2. When a member fails to wear her pin to a club meeting, it is appropriate for her to donate $1.00 to the treasury.
   
   
3. Meetings may be canceled only at the discretion of the President
   
   
4. The Club will make a memorial contribution to Altrusa International Foundation, Inc. in the event of a club member’s death or death in a club member’s immediate family.
   
   
5. When the calendar is set for the year, consideration will be given to the days on which holidays occur, and whenever it is advisable, changes from the regular dates of meeting will be made.
   
   
6. All requests for contributions not included in the club’s budget must be approved by the Board of Directors before they are presented for the club’s consideration.
   
   
7. It is the club’s intent to provide funds to the president of first named for serving as delegate to the District Two Conference and to the vice president ot second named who shall serve as delegate/alternate. The amounts to be funded are contingent upon the club budget. All delegates/alternated will be named in the order of board ranking.
   
   
8. Project monies rased in the current club year will be spent in the following club year. The finance committee will allocate the project funds to project committees in the form of a budget at the beginning of the club year. The project budget may include a $500 reserve for emergencies or additional requests.
   
   
9. In order to support the environmental emphasis of Altrusa International, Inc. and the clean air standards of the Charlottesville area, we declare our meeting places smoke free.
   
   
10. A contribution of $3.00 may be sent to each new Altrusa club as gesture of welcome to Altrusa International, Inc.
