Local Club Projects

Charlottesville Altrusa participates in a variety of community service projects. We provide funds and assistance to:

1. The Salvation Army and Ronald McDonald House Family Holiday programs.
2. The Ronald McDonald Holiday Gift Wrap program.
3. The Adopt-A-Highway trash pick-up program.
4. Various projects for the Shelter for Help in Emergency including parties and providing supplies and educational materials.
5. Adoption/maintenance of a cabin at Camp Holiday Trails (camp for children with disabilities.
6. Sponsorship of the Poster Contest for The Virginia Festival of the Book.
7. Planting and maintenance of a flower bed and landscaping area at The Nature Conservancy.
8. Volunteer team for a local running race - The Charlottesville 10-Miler.
9. By offering a yearly $500 to a student at Piedmont Virginia Community College (adults returning back to school).
10. By the Funding of equipment for The Nature Conservancy.
11. The development of active projects in the fields of literacy and the environment.
12. Provide supplementary funds to qualified women for continuing their education or receiving specialized training.
