Charlottesville
Altrusa participates in a variety of community service projects. We
provide funds and assistance to:
- The
Salvation Army and Ronald McDonald House Family Holiday programs.
-
The Ronald McDonald Holiday Gift Wrap program.
- The
Adopt-A-Highway trash pick-up program.
- Various
projects for the Shelter for Help in Emergency including parties
and providing supplies and educational materials.
- Adoption/maintenance
of a cabin at Camp Holiday Trails (camp for children with disabilities.

Sponsorship of the Poster Contest for The Virginia Festival of
the Book.

Planting and maintenance of a flower bed and landscaping area
at The Nature Conservancy.
- Volunteer
team for a local running race - The Charlottesville 10-Miler.

By offering a yearly $500 to a student at Piedmont Virginia Community
College (adults returning back to school).
- By
the Funding of equipment for The Nature Conservancy.
- The
development of active projects in the fields of literacy and the
environment.
- Provide
supplementary funds to qualified women for continuing their education
or receiving specialized training.
