Free Family Event Mission When and Where What Organizers Quilt Sponsorship Newsletter The Charlottesville Festival of Cultures celebrates the linguistic and cultural diversity in our local regional community as well as increases awareness, understanding, and appreciation.. It provides an opportunity for building a bridge of communication between new Americans and established residents. The Festival creates a friendly and welcoming environment that fosters tolerance and respect for all residents in our community. We envision the Festival as a gathering place where all can meet, share in, and learn about each others' cultures. The first Festival of Cultures took place in May of 2004. Our fifth annual Festival will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 10am to 4pm in Lee Park, (on Market Street, next to the public library, downtown Charlottesville).. The Festival of Cultures includes cultural booths, all-day entertainment (music, dance, song, storytelling), food and artisan vendors, hands-on cultural games and crafts, and resource agency information tables. If you would like to participate, click here for an application form. Who: Organizers and Volunteers The Charlottesville Festival of Cultures is coordinated by the Charlottesville City Schools Adult Learning Center with the involvement and support of many other individuals and organizations. If you would like to join the planning committee, please contact us. If you would like to volunteer at the Festival, please complete and send in the volunteer form.
