Winner of numerous local and statewide competitions, pianist Nicolas Pellon began piano lessons at the age of six with Barbara Chapdelaine in Charlottesville. The James River Arts Council is pleased to present Nicolas in a recital at the Scottsville Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m.

After receiving his degree in music from the University of Maryland, on a full scholarship, Nicolas attended the Eastern Music Festival, supported by the generosity of numerous businesses and individuals in the Charlottesville area. He has recently performed recitals at the Washington D.C. Public Library, Gildenhorn Recital Hall in College Park, Maryland, and in Charlottesville. For the Scottsville recital, Nicolas will play Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 21 in C, as well as several short works by Chopin.

Scottsville Presbyterian Church is located at Valley and Bird Streets. A reception will follow the recital at the church office across the street. Admission is free, and donations in any amount to the James River Arts Council will be happily accepted.
