The Jefferson Tibetan Society's primary function is
to provide teaching and meditation practice in the Tibetan Buddhist
tradition, as exemplified by His Holiness the Dalai Lama's teachings.
Our resident Lama is

Jampel Thardo from the Drepung Loseling Monastery. JTS meets on Wednesday evenings for prayer, meditation and teaching. These sessions are held at the JTS Temple in Charlottesville. Please see the schedule for more information. Many special events and workshops are offered throughout the year. Please see the Special Events page for more information on theses events. JTS was founded in 1982 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational foundation.
