The Central Library Computer Lab is designed to provide public access to the Internet. Patrons may use the computers to view resources freely available on the Internet. When you visit the lab, please take a moment to read our Computer and Internet Access Guidelines posted behind the sign-in desk.

Generally, the lab is open to the public on a walk-in basis.  There 18 computers in the Computer Lab and patrons log over 3000 sessions each month. Please limit your session to 30 minutes if others are waiting.

The lab is staffed at all times.  If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the lab monitor on duty. 

There are also computers with access to the Internet on the first floor of the library and on the second floor, there is an Express computer for patrons who need only a short time to check their e-mail.  In compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act, Jefferson-Madison Regional Library offers filtered access to the Internet.  Adults (age 17 and over) with proper identification, may request unfiltered access from library staff.

The lab provides free public access to the Internet.  Inappropriate use of these resources will not be tolerated.  Patrons using Jefferson-Madison Regional Library's facilities to access the Internet shall agree to and abide by J-MRL's official Computer and Internet Access policy (J-MRL Policy: Section 4.7).  Copies of this policy are available upon request.
