Welcome music students and families. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome returning and incoming students and families. For those of you new to the school, the Monticello High School Music Boosters (MHSMBI) is comprised of family members and community volunteers working collaboratively with the music program directors to enhance opportunities for the students. Students in the Monticello High School program have earned numerous awards for outstanding achievement. We look forward to continuing the tradition!

Without efforts of parent volunteers, these successes would not have been possible. We hope to see even greater parent participation in the upcoming year and encourage each of you to join us.

Of Course, the executive board alone cannot provide the support needed for a successful music program.

The Music Boosters will be in charge of the Fail Concessions this year. This includes Girls Varsity Volleyball Games (JV when on same date), Varsity Field Hockey (JV when on same date) and Varsity/JV Football Games. 100% of the profit will be kept by the Music Boosters. It is an important that each family work several times during the Fall Season to make this fundraising event successful. Students may volunteer to work with their parents. You will be contacted with times & dates that help is needed.

Much help will be needed at the sixth annual JEFFERSON CLASSIC. This is a marching band competition that will be held at MHS on Saturday, October 6,2006. Last year's event was very successful and drew several thousand people to MHS. There are many needs to make this a successful event. You will be contacted soon about volunteering for this event.

Fundraising is a major component of the Music Booster's activity. There are two types of fundraising - fundraising for the general Music Boosters account and fundraising for the student's personal account. The Music Boosters normally retain in the general account a portion of all student generated fundraising monies. The remaining funds raised by a student will be deposited in the student's persona! account.

Please mark your calendars and be sure to attend a very important Music Boosters meeting in the band room at 6:30 P.M. on Monday, September 10, 2007 concerning the Jefferson Classic.
