Meeting called to order by President, Gayle Millner

Minutes of meeting of August 13, 2007 approved

Treasurer’s report: Martha Smith, CoTreasurer:

$450 of Jefferson Classic ads have been sold by students—need to sell many more to make it worthwhile to print program

Concessions under way for Fall Sports

Meal plan has begun for participating students on home football game days

Allocation for copier may be lower than needed—may be using more toner than standard amount quoted by the copier company, which is often underestimated

Mrs. Nothnagle brought up need to allocate money for Longwood University students

They will be performing a free concert on October 29

Money should be allotted for food—options discussed included ordering pizza or catered food; having Boosters prepare items for a buffet

Mrs. Nothnagle also discussed promoting the Longwood concert, which will be in the new auditorium

Treasurer’s report approved

Report on concessions—Bob Kennedy, Concessions manager:

Took in $4,200

Discussion re tailgates, parking spaces sold by athletic boosters to raise funds; whether this would be an option for the Music Boosters

Football game versus Albemarle:

Sold out of drinks, ran out of ice

Martha Beverly has numbers for quantity of food sold

Since this was a local team, there were more spectators than at other games

There were 2,400 paying customers, about 3,000 people total at the game

Suggestion that we set up a tent for Albemarle game next time, like Jefferson Classic

About 85% of band fees have been collected

Spring Trip—no updates right now; more information to come later.

Band competitions on the October 13^th – two in the Richmond area

Can add another competition on the 20^th after states (Cville) if band is interested

Booster parents at meeting requested band T-shirts—Martha Smith indicated that the cost would be $11.00 (or more)

Jefferson Classic:

Need to sell more ads—deadline is September 21

Trophy sponsorships—deadline same as for ads

Fundraisers:

Nothing new on Marchathon

Peanuts – start next Tuesday

Cookie dough – with peanuts

Candles, poinsettias, citrus fruit—November

Pizza—January

New business:

Can we set up an alert to notify by email of band events/booster?

Would this be done through the school?
