Welcome/Meeting called to order—President, G. Millner

 

Minutes of October 8, 2007 meeting submitted by G. Smith

 

Motion to approve by M. Martsolf;  seconded by P. Long.  Minutes put into record.

 

Reports

 

Treasurer(M. Smith):

Boosters tentative amount from Classic $6,500-$7,000  (outstanding bills/credits still out  Pepsi bill, Sam’s)

Fall concessions—estimated $10.000- $10,300 (pending outstanding bills/recelpts)

Student ads paid

 

Concessions (B. Kennedy):

Doing well.  Income reflected in Treasurer’s Report.  Finished with concessions other than football playoffs. This Friday 11/16--Football game v. Handley.  MHS Band will do pep band; not field show (Henrico will do field show).

 

Students will use last of meal plan this week.  Discussion re snack for 3rd quarter.

Hot chocolate?  Juice and chips? 

 

Playoff schedule:

 

Next Friday, November 23 here at 7:30 if MHS wins

 

Saturday December 1—here at 1:30 if MHS wins

 

Saturday December 8—State championship at Lynchburg

 

Dinner for Longwood University group before concert—fed 75 people for $200; had been authorized for up to $500.  Had not been budgeted for.  Probably do not have to set aside for next year.

 

Spring Trip (M. Beverley):

 

Cost based on minimum of 32 people going

Money due this week:  $150 first payment

Will know by Friday if there are enough people for the trip

Need passport for Canada as of January 2008

 

Chaperones should send letter to S. Nothnagle stating why they feel they should be chaperones

 

Band Update (S. Nothnagle):

 

Robert Jospe coming tomorrow to perform for the band

Friday—Pep band; will sit with Henrico

Holiday parade on Friday 11/23; MHS is first in the parade

December 8 is District Band Auditions--may conflict if MHS is in State football finals

Winter Concert will be on Thursday, December 13

 

Reports of Fundraisers:

 

Marchathon—9 students, raised $870.  Boosters got $399.72.

 

Peanuts and Cookie Dough—peanuts should be in this week.  $3,735 total sales.  Boosters $298.90.

 

Cookie Dough—total $2,251.00   Boosters $196.65  Different profit amounts for  proportioned, buckets, etc.  Would be easier if the company did a flat amount.

 

Candles, Poinsettias, Citrus Fruit—due this week.

 

Pizza—begins early January--Melissa Martsolf will run

 

Applebee’s Pancake Breakfast (on 29)—March 15, 7-9:30 AM

They provide cooks, we provide other staff needed.  Pancakes, sausage, coffee, tea, etc.--need juice if we want to serve it.  $5 for all you can eat.

 

New Business:

 

Band vehicle/trailer—need for trailer or vehicle.  Need to find out what it would cost.  Ask S. Mangano for input.  Agreed to begin investigating what would be involved.

 

M. Smith—discussed Jefferson Classic manual—revisions have been made; copy is in S. Nothnagle’s office
