December 2005 Meeting
The December Chapter Meeting, to be held at the Golden Corral, 1185 Seminole Trail (US-29 North), will take place on Monday, December 12, 2005. The Social Hour and pay-as-you-go buffet dinner will begin at 6:00 PM. The evening's program will begin precisely at 7:00 PM with a short business meeting, followed by the presentation.
Tonight's program will feature a facinating documentary film: F Units in Action: The Diesels That Did It
CLASSIC TRAINS Magazine presents the story of the most popular diesel locomotive of all time: General Motors' clssic F units! Climb aboard for the history of the famed "covored wagon" from the ground-breaking FT model of 1939 to the last F unit built, Metro-North FL9 2033. You'll see F's working mainline freight and passenger trains in the U.S. and Canada; tourist railroads and shortlines; and camera-shy F's in industrial service. Stunning videography, historic black-and-white photos and commentary from knowledgeable railroad experts. It's all here in F Units in Action!
Narrated by TRAINS Magazine Associate Publisher Kevin P. O'Keefe.
