March Meeting

The February Chapter Meeting, to be held at the Ponderosa Steakhouse at Pantops Shopping Center (US-250 East) in Charlottesville, will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2007. The Social Hour and pay-as-you-go dinner will begin at 6:00 PM. The evening's program will begin precisely at 7:00 PM.

The evening's program will feature a documentray on the Union Pacific steam excursion program in Hear That Train A'Comin'.

The Union Pacific Challenger No. 3985 is the largest and most powerful steam engine in the world and the last locomotive of its class still operating. Meet the people who keep this giant running and hear the about the rise and fall of steam power. Inside the vintage roundhouse in Cheyenne, Wyoming, crew members share their thoughts on being part of a fading era as they restore the last steam engine built for Union Pacific, No. 844.
