This Year's Parties

Where the Wild Things Are

A hunting lodge in the wilds of Crozet

Catches the light of the moon’s clear ray.

Flock to this evening we know will be pleasant.

Feast on wild duck, goose, dove and pheasant.

Listen to tales of lands near and far,

And of hunters who go where the wild things are!

The Supreme Court:

Backstage at the Marble Palace

Party Parade proudly presents A.E. Dick Howard speaking about the Supreme Court.  Professor Howard is an authority in constitutional law and is the White Burkett Miller Professor of Law and Public Affairs at the University of Virginia . He was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford and law clerk to Mr. Justice Hugo I. Black.  Professor Howard will discuss what presidents have hoped to accomplish through their nominations to the Court, what has changed over the years since the Warren Court , what is going on in the Court today, and what to expect from the Roberts Court .  This story is as much about personalities and politics as it is about decisions and doctrine.  Professor Howard will answer questions following his presentation.
