SpringFest 2008

Join us on Saturday May 3, 2008 for SpringFest at the Northside Library Meeting Room from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. The Northside Library is located in Albemarle Square at the corner of Rt. 29 and East Rio Road.

Our speaker will be Priscilla Stultz. Priscilla is a fiber artist and quilt teacher from Northern Virginia.
She will present a trunk show entitled "My Journey As A Fiber Artist". If you'd like to see a preview of Priscilla's work, visit her website.

Friendship block packets for the raffle block are available from your chapter representatives.

Bring your finished Book-Quilt Challenge items with you for display. And don't forget Show'n'Tell!

We will also have door prizes! If you would like to donate a quilt-related door prize, please bring the item to SpringFest on May 3.

Janet Saulsbury will arrange for lunch to be brought in from The Carving Board for those who don't want to bring a brown bag. The cost is $9.00 and the deadline for ordering is April 14. Contact Janet at janetsaulsbury AT gmail DOT com to place your order.

OUR GUILD MEETINGS

The Charlottesville Area Quilters Guild holds two annual meetings. SpringFest is held the first Saturday in May and QuiltFest is the first Saturday in November. Both meetings are open to the public, and we encourage anyone interested in quilting to come.

We generally have a speaker or some workshops, eat lunch together, and share our recently completed quilts and works in progress. It's a great way to see what's going on in quilting in Charlottesville area, as well as a way for members to keep in touch with people who attend other chapter meetings.

We often have door prizes and a drawing for blocks made according to a theme chosen in advance. You get one chance to win all the blocks for each block you submit. Check with a chapter representative to learn what the block design is for our next meeting!

Our next guild meeting will be the first Saturday in May. In the meantime, come to our chapter meetings and join in the fun of quilting in Charlottesville.
