“How to Start a Business” Information Sessions

           Learn the basics on how to start a business, including how to decide if you are an entrepreneur, how to evaluate your business idea, how to develop a plan for your business and the nuts and bolts of getting it started.  Discussion topics will include financing the business and government programs for business owners.

          Both aspiring entrepreneurs and those who have just started within the last six months will benefit from this session.

Peer Advisory Groups Now Forming!

             The CV SBDC new peer advisory program, Business Advantage Circles, is now accepting applications for membership

             Unlike a networking group, this new program provides a confidential, non-competitive forum for problem solving, sharing best practices, and, ultimately, contributing to the success of members’ businesses.  Each circle, which is comprised of up to 8 business owners, prioritizes issues for the group to address and develops solutions that can be utilized.   A facilitator assists the Circle and brings in experts as needed. 

             Circles help take the isolation of out of ownership; fill in weaknesses and share strengths; and help the owner manage the business.

             Circles meet monthly for 2 hours.  The fee is $90/month and discounts are available to area Chamber of Commerce members and other designated organizations.
