Scottsville Lions participated in White Cane Day on Friday and Saturday, May 9 and 10, 2008. Lions members were stationed at several locations in Scottsville (IGA, Bank, Dollar General, Post Office, Lumpkins) wearing their yellow aprons and passing out miniature white canes to the public while seeking donations. All proceeds go to the various Lions projects to benefit those with impaired vision, including leader dogs and even white canes. This annual event contibutes a significant portion of the Lions' budget for aid to the blind.
