Sunshine beamed brightly on the morning of Saturday, August 18th, making it a perfect outdoor work day for museum volunteers.  Earlier in the week, Pat Pitts sawed up a large limb that broke off the tree between the Museum and Barclay House.  The volunteer team of Bill and Bonnie Cooper, Bill Geary, and Peter Granger sawed up and carted off the remaing branches and leaf debris.  A special thanks to Gwynne Daye, who loaned us her tools and trailer to cut the limb debris down to size and cart it away.

Bill Geary and Bill Cooper built and implemented their design for a new cabinet in the Barclay storage room for the Museum's framed paintings and prints.  This cabinet provides our Collections Committee with a new storage system for preserving and organizing these archival materials.  Throughout the day, both teams of volunteers smiled often as they enjoyed each other's company and made significant progress on Museum grounds maintenance and preservation projects.  We salute all of our Museum volunteers for their many contributions each year to the Museum's mission of preserving and promoting Scottsville history.  Thank you all so much!
