About Us

Science of Spirituality is a nonprofit organization that provides a forum for people to learn meditation, experience personal transformation, and bring about inner and outer peace. It has over 1400 centers worldwide, with international headquarters in Delhi, India, and national headquarters in Naperville, Illinois. The Delhi center is host each year to tens of thousands of people from all religious backgrounds and nationalities who come to study spirituality and meditation. All programs are free and open to the public. Science of Spirituality continually engages in inter-religous dialogue and participates in national and international interfaith conferences. Under the direction of Sant Rajinder Singh, the organization sponsors major annual international events on spirituality, human unity, and religious fellowship. We are affiliated with the international organization of Science of Spirituality. Our ongoing effort in the Charlottesville and the Central Virginia area is to present the teachings of the Masters (a respectful term for Sant Rajinder Singh and his predecessors) to those who may be appropriately attracted. One of the ways we accomplish this is through our regular meetings called Satsang (literately translated as "the company of truth"). During a typical Satsang we have quiet meditation time and instruction, readings from the many books of the Masters', and video tapes of some of the public talks given by Sant Rajinder Singh. The meetings are approximately an hour and afterwards there is time for questions and discussions. We also have a library of books and pamphlets available to help explain the many facets of spirituality.

On a personal level, our primary goal is to inculcate the spirit of Love, Unity, and Peace in our everyday lives through meditation and ethical living. Our members are a typical cross-section of the community and have various religious backgrounds and affiliations. We don't promote any particular religious belief, but rather attempt to discover the commonality of all humanity at the quintessential level of the soul.
