The Rev. Rodney L. Caulkins was named Vicar of St. Luke's, Simeon in the Spring of 2000. Rod was reared in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1956. After brief careers in teaching and business, he entered the Virginia Theological Seminary graduating in 1966. In March 1967 he was ordained to the Priesthood in the Diocese of Bethlehem in Pennsylvania. He served as Vicar of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church until 1969 when he became Rector of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Woodbridge, Virginia. After serving there until 1980, he became Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church in Hampton, Virginia. He and his wife, Janyce, retired to Lake Monticello, Virginia in 1999. Subsequently Rod answered the call to serve at St. Luke's. On December 2, 2007, Rev Caulkins retired as Vicar of St Luke’s Church.
