- Understanding Poverty and Homelessness
At Roosevelt Middle School in Eugene, Oregon, we teach a class called "Through
the Camera's Eye: American History through the Movies," a six-week unit
that provides our mainly middle to upper class students with a series of
experiences and assignments focused on recognizing the realities of poverty,
empathizing with those who experience it, and taking action to address this
critical socal issue.
