About VHST

Faculty

There are five mental health professionals who are professors in the VHST program who will teach and guide students through their coursework.

Evadne Deeds

She has enjoyed living in the woods of Greene County, Virginia for more than 12 years. She raises Nubian goats, a flock of chickens, and a family of dogs and cats. Her greatest joys are her children and grandchildren, her work, music of many types, and having fun outdoors - mostly trail riding on horseback, water sports, and camping.

Paul Abrams

He enjoys reading, hiking in the woods, going to the beach, composing and playing music and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Also an avid golfer, Paul likes to spend time on the links.

"I feel stronger as a person, with a lot of confidence and pride. . . . (I am) able to meet my future goals, to have success in my career, and to be recognized for who I am - a man with MI but also an achiever who will help (others with) mental illness, and will help make a difference in other people's lives."

Steve Dickerson, Big Stone Gap, VA
