Message from the East ...
Hello Brethren,
I hope that all who participated in our Widow's Sons' Challenge at our last Stated Communication had a good time and learned something new or something they had forgotten. I know, for myself, being in the East it was fulfilling to hear the fellowship and laughter of the participants.
Since I wrote you last we have raised four new Master Masons. Two participated in the One Day Conferral and two through our usual degree work. Our new Brothers are: Brother James Craig, Brother Joshua Katcher, Brother Steve Thomas, and Brother Lowell Hill Jr.. When you see these Brethren (or any Brother you are not familiar with and those you are) please introduce yourself and make him/them feel welcomed.
Brethren, your officers are busy getting our October Stated Communication at the George Washington Masonic Memorial. We have received our Dispensation, the bus is reserved, and arrangements for a cooked meal made. As I have announced throughout the year, the trip will be made on OCTOBER 25th and will replace our usual 3rd Monday Communication (Oct 20th). Your cost to participate is $25.00 which will reserve you a seat on the bus and pay for your meal. If at all possible, please pay by Sep 15th so we can have an accurate count. Again, we WILL NOT have our October 20th Stated Communication at the Lodge. We WILL have our October Stated Communication on OCTOBER 25th at the George Washington Masonic Memorial. For reservations please contact myself at davidmerchant@embarqmail.com or by phone at (434)-985-6374.
Finally Brethren, Thank you for all your donations of non-perishable food items made thus far to our Food Bank drive and I strongly urge and encourage you to continue making those donations and helping those less fortunate than ourselves. I cannot stress enough the impact this single act of kindness has on our community. Every HUMAN BEING has a claim upon YOUR kind offices.
Fraternally Yours
Brother Dave
Worshipful Master
